The Fjord PtX project has entered an agreement with Per Aarsleff A/S, who will initiate geotechnical investigations in preparation for an underground pipeline beneath the Limfjord. The pipeline will connect CO₂ capture in Aalborg with SAF production in Vodskov – without disturbing the fjord bed.

A significant milestone has been reached for Fjord PtX with the launch of preparations for an underground pipeline beneath the Limfjord. The pipeline will connect the Nordværk Waste-to-Energy plant in eastern Aalborg, where CO₂ is being captured, with the Fjord PtX facility in Norbis Park, Vodskov, where the e-SAF production takes place.

Per Aarsleff A/S has been contracted to carry out the initial geotechnical investigations for the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) solution. HDD is an advanced drilling technique that enables the installation of underground pipelines without disturbing the fjord bed or surrounding environment.

The method was selected due to its high technical precision and operational reliability, ensuring a long-term, low-maintenance solution. It also minimizes disruption to marine traffic and existing infrastructure.

The project supports the green transition while creating local value and employment opportunities in the Aalborg region. Fjord PtX is thus contributing to both technological innovation and environmental responsibility.
