Fjord PtX is a Danish Power-to-X project under development deploying industrial use of electrolysis technology, on a megawatt-level, to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Powered by renewable energy, Fjord PtX will produce SAF that will lead to the long-term sustainability of aviation. In addition, the project will produce the intermediate product naphtha, which can support the decarbonization of the plastics industry.

The plant is expected to cover 20 ha, corresponding to 26 football fields
Fjord PtX represents a capital investment of ~ 1.5-2 billion EUR
The excess heat from the plant will provide emission-free district heating to approximately 11,000 households in Aalborg municipality
Fjord PtX is expected to generate up to 200 permanent jobs
Fjord PtX will recycle 330,000 tons of CO2 annually primarily from the waste incineration at Nordværk, corresponding to the CO2 emissions of 17,000 Danish households
Fjord PtX will produce approximately 75,000 tons of SAF annually, and will be able to supply up to ~250% of the fuel consumption for Danish domestic flights.
