Fjord PtX has achieved a significant milestone in its journey toward sustainable aviation fuel production. After 16 months of intensive work, the project has successfully completed its pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) phase. This stage focused on developing an optimized Basis of Design, ensuring the most competitive end-product: electro-synthetic Sustainable Aviation Fuel (eSAF).

Søren Toftgaard, partner in CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners) is representing Fjord PtX in the Executive Steering Committee of Project SkyPower - a CEO-led initiative accelerating the commercial take-off of synthetic aviation fuel, commonly known as e-SAF (electro Sustainable Aviation Fuel) in Europe.

At Fjord PtX, we believe that strategy and collaboration go hand in hand – and that the best ideas often emerge when people come together. Last week, our Aalborg office hosted a dedicated Project Team Day, bringing together colleagues from across the Fjord PtX organization for a full day of alignment, knowledge-sharing, and forward planning.

The Fjord PtX project has entered an agreement with Per Aarsleff A/S, who will initiate geotechnical investigations in preparation for an underground pipeline beneath the Limfjord. The pipeline will connect CO₂ capture in Aalborg with SAF production in Vodskov – without disturbing the fjord bed.

Fjord PtX had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from SAS – Scandinavian Airlines, Copenhagen Airports, and Aalborg Airport to our facility in Aalborg, alongside our project partners Aalborg Forsyning and Nordværk. Together, we explored how Danish eSAF production can help decarbonize aviation, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and foster green industries and local development.
